Summer Workshops

Due to popular demand I will be offering three workshops during the summer holidays. They are open to all, so no previous experience required. These workshops will not be concentrating on technique, but rather will be concentrating on teaching something different. They are designed to be fun and informative; some light entertainment during summer. (and perhaps a break from the kids?)
Venue: Penwortham Youth & Community Centre, 3 Priory Lane, Penwortham, Preston, PR1 0AR
Time: 6.30pm - 8pm
Workshops 1: 30th July: Drum Solos
Whether you are listening to an Egyptian pop piece, Oriental music, Saidi or anything else, there are always drums. SOmetimes, you will hear just drums. What do you do when this happens? Come to this workshop and find out

Workshop 2: 13th August: Isis Wings
Whilst not a historical part of Egyptian dance tradations, Isis Wings were added by the Western belly dance scene and have proven to be very popular. They are based on the imagery of the Egyptian goddess Isis who is often depicted with large wings. The wings symbolize protection, charm, and the powerful cosmic energy associated with Isis.
Please note: I Have a limited supply of Isis Wings to loan out, so if possible please bring your own

Workshop 3: 27th August: Melaya
With influences from Alexandria, the Melaya dance has become a well recognised character dance in its own right. Full of cheek, sass and flirtation it will no doubt cheer your spirits so come along and learn more
Cost: £15 each
