Summer Workshops
I have four workshops available during the summer this year, all focusing on having FUN and learning something new. These workshops are open to students and none-students alike. No previous experience is required and all necessary props will be available to borrow in each workshop.
All four workshops will take place at:
Penwortham Youth & Community Centre
3 Priory Lane
Penwortham
Preston
PR1 0AR
From 6.30pm - 8pm
All workshops cost £10 each

Workshop 1 - Wednesday 20th July - Characters Within the Dance
In this workshop we will explore the different character types which you can use within your dance to add interest and contrast. From cheeky to powerful, explore your hidden personalities!

Workshop 2 - Wednesday 3rd August - Fan Veil
While not your typically traditional Egyptian prop, the fan veil has become increasingly popular over recent years. Similar to the veil, but with a different dynamic, we will explore the joys (and possibly the horrors!) of this beautifulo prop.

Workshop 3 - Wednesday 17th August - Sagat (Finger Cymbals)
More often than not the sagat or finger cymbals are used alongside Shamadan, but in this workshop we will learn some basic sagat patterns and learn how to use this whilst dancing! Prepare for loud!

Workshop 4 - Wednesday 31st August - Melaya
A well-known character dance developed from traditional Alexandrian dance by Mahmoud Reda in the 1960's. In this workshop we will explore this cheeky, sassy dance.
