All in all, a grand day out, to coin a phrase.
Yay! We have some photos. I particularly like this top one as it shows just some of the processional route and I think gets the feeling of the gala. A photo of the whole clan.

Not long been back from the Penwortham Gala.
The weather was very kind to us again this year, although the small amount of breeze we got, whilst great for cooling us down, played havoc with our poi veils. I'm sure I spent at least half my time wrapped up like a mummy. NOT the glamorous image I was trying to portray! I have lots of people to thank for today: My dancers: Gail, Paula, Tracey, Sarah, Linzi,. Lorena, Julie, Janette, Carol. My banner carriers: Paddy and Diane. Leaflet distributer: Ryan Driver and soundman: Paul Photographer: Philip Photographs hopefully to follow soon. Had our last rehearsal tonight before the Penwortham Gala which takes place on Saturday (in Penwortham).
Should be a lot of fun, so if you fancy coming down to support us and watch all the other groups, the procession is due to start at 12.30pm. There's loads of other stuff going on too, so a fun day can be had by all. Don't forget folks. The next available crash course starts in just 2 weeks time, on June 16th. If you are wanting to do the course, please book via my website. The course runs from 16th June - 21st June, and unless I reach my booking minimum, this course won't happen. For more details, visit my Book now to avoid disappointment! After what seems like a very disorganised few weeks, due to Bank Holidays, and Easter, we are now down to our final two weeks of rehearsals ready for the Penwortham Gala on 14th June.
What with praying that the weather will be nice (as long as it's dry, not too windy, and warm), and hoping that we can all remember our dances, I'm starting to feel the butterflies creeping in. It's amazing how things suddenly creep up on you all of a sudden. Really hope to see lots of smiling faces at the gala, cheering us all on. See you there! |
AuthorHi. I'm Sarah. I have been learning belly dance for what feels a very long time, but I still love it as much now as I did then. If you, dear reader, have been thinking about giving it go and haven't yet done so, now is the time. Take the plunge and join me (and many others) in this fabulous, joyous dance. Archives
